The Technological Frontier: The physical and digital worlds have officially merged. London International College (LIC) is at the forefront of this revolution with its newly established Smart Logistics Lab. This research facility explores the application of 5G connectivity and the Internet of Things (IoT) in creating what we call the “Living Supply Chain”—a self-correcting, fully transparent network that manages the movement of goods with zero human intervention.
Insights from the Lab: Our latest pilot project demonstrates that by embedding IoT sensors into every stage of the logistics process—from raw material procurement in Saudi Arabia to final delivery in London—companies can reduce “Latent Waste” by up to 40%. The “Living Supply Chain” uses real-time data to anticipate weather disruptions, port congestion, and fuel price changes, automatically rerouting shipments to ensure on-time delivery.
Curriculum Integration: This cutting-edge knowledge is a core component of our Supply Chain & Operations Management programs. We are training the next generation of logistics leaders to master the software and sensors that are currently transforming the global trade landscape into a hyper-efficient, data-driven ecosystem.
